The next scheduled maintenance for Publish.Illinois.edu will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, starting at 9:00 p.m. During this maintenance cycle, we will be performing a critical plugin update. No WordPress core or theme updates are planned as part of this maintenance.
We recommend that you test the changes on your site(s) in our Publish test environment before 07/01/26. The Test-Publish environment has been updated to include the plugin changes that are scheduled for July 1. You can preview these changes, as they will appear in Production-Publish, by visiting test.publish.illinois.edu (VPN connection required). Note: The Test-Publish environment was synced with production data from 06/25/2026.
These plugin updates have been available in the test environment for some time, and we’ve communicated about them previously. If you’ve already tested your site against these changes, no additional testing is necessary.

Announcing the next maintenance event: The next scheduled maintenance for Publish.Illinois.edu is planned for Wednesday, July 15, 2026. During that maintenance, we expect to deploy additional plugin updates along with the latest version of the University of Illinois theme. The Test-Publish environment will be synchronized with production on July 2, 2026, in preparation for that maintenance. A follow-up maintenance announcement with additional details about the July 15 update will be published in the days following the July 2 synchronization.
