LAS 199: Exploring the World of Work

In this course, students will develop a professional development plan that integrates their interests, skills, values, and knowledge to make the most of their time as an LAS undergraduate at the University of Illinois and to experience the challenges and opportunities of thinking intentionally about their professional future. Students will explore potential career opportunities for liberal arts and sciences students and learn about options for career development at Illinois. Students will also learn how to articulate through professional communication the skills and perspectives emphasized by an LAS education and consider the value of a liberal arts and sciences education in today’s globalized world of work.
