Bhoomika Mathur

Graduate Student

I come from Jaipur, India and obtained a bachelors in biotechnology and biochemical engg at IIT Kharagpur! I love to dance, anywhere and everywhere. Even if I am in the lab doing experiments, I am secretly dancing! What drove my interest in liver cancer is the lack of effective therapeutics, poor diagnosis and short life expectancy. My project is to study how bile acids via cell-cell contacts regulate organ size controlling hippo kinases and to analyze the effect of bile acid metabolites in mitochondrial hepatopathies. One of my side projects focuses on how xenosensor CAR regulates ribonucleotide reductase, dNTP pools and cellular proliferation. In my free time, I like to hang out with friends, draw and eat. Call me at 3 AM for Gol Gappas (you have to try them, if you haven’t yet!) or frozen yogurt, I will be all ready to turn up!
