Operations Flight Commander
Capt. Alexander Greene is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 190 at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in Champaign, IL. He leads, recruits, trains, and mentors highly qualified men and women as prospective Air Force and Space Force officers. He promotes Air Force and Space Force career opportunities to university and high school students, faculty, administrators, and families. He also instructs university courses on Air Force history, doctrine, operations and Leadership.
Capt. Greene commissioned into the U.S. Air Force in January 2019 through the AFROTC from Detachment 220, after earning his Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from Purdue University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree and anticipated to graduate in December 2026. He served one year in the Individual Ready Reserve before entering active duty, where he has served for the past seven years. His assignments span multiple acquisition and leadership roles, as a program manager in aircraft, munitions, and ICBM acquisition. He served as a program manager for C-130J retrofit and modernization programs. He also served as the program manager for the Joint Direct Attack Munition.
Prior to his current position, the Captain was the Program Manager for Sentinel Weapon System Launch Centers, located at Hill AFB, Utah.
